The fairgrounds were on what is now the University of Washington campus. The spoon pays tribute to the industries and natural wonders of Washington, as well as its namesake, George. This piece has many wonderful stories to tell! \u003cspan\u003eAtop the spoon is a portrait of Washington, followed by steamboat imagery, a lumberjack in the forest, and flora and fauna along the stem. The Bowl Features The AYP Manufactures Building.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe back of the spoon features a homestead in front of the mountains, and a miner in a mine, complete with pan, lantern, pick and shovel. The stem also depicts salmon, a crab, a starfish, and the Sterling hallmark.
