1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition George Washington Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon
Description
This very ornate sterling silver spoon was a souvenir from the 1909 Seattle fair called the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition, which was created to promote the development of the Pacific Northwest. The fairgrounds were on what is now the University of Washington campus. The spoon pays tribute to the industries and natural wonders of Washington, as well as its namesake, George. This piece has many wonderful stories to tell! Atop the spoon is a portrait of Washington, followed by steamboat imagery, a lumberjack in the forest, and flora and fauna along the stem. The Bowl Features The AYP Manufactures Building.The back of the spoon features a homestead in front of the mountains, and a miner in a mine, complete with pan, lantern, pick and shovel. The stem also depicts salmon, a crab, a starfish, and the Sterling hallmark. The maker's mark is of a crossed pick and shovel and the letters MB, which represented the silversmiths Joseph Mayer & Bros. of Seattle. (Their business was later absorbed by EJ Towle & Co)

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
